To practice yoga effectively and safely, certain guidelines must be followed. Here are some important rules to follow when practicing yoga:

1. Practice on an empty stomach

Yoga is best practiced on an empty stomach. But anyone can practice yoga 3 to 4 hours after a full meal and 1-2 hours after a light meal. This facilitates movement and prevents discomfort during the postures.

2. Wear comfortable clothing

Choose loose, breathable and comfortable clothing in which you can move freely and stretch without restriction.

3. Create a calm environment

Practice in a quiet, clean and well-ventilated room. This will allow you to concentrate and relax better. If possible, use a yoga mat so that you have good cushioning and a good grip.

4. Warm up before starting

Always start with gentle warm-up exercises or stretches to loosen up your muscles and prevent injury, especially for beginners.

5. Maintain even breathing

Concentrate on your breathing throughout the exercise. Breathing should be deep and even, usually through the nose. For most asanas, breathe in during the upward or extension movements and out during the downward or contraction movements.

6. Start slowly and gradually increase the intensity

Especially for beginners or people with physical limitations, start with the basic poses and gradually increase the intensity as your strength, flexibility and balance improve.

7. Avoid overstretching or forced postures

8. Drink water before or after, but not during your session.

9. Finish with Shavasana to let your body fully relax.
